Will it replace UI/UX designer jobs in the future? That's the big question that I attempt to answer today. Credit to the great designer whose fitness app UI I used in this video: https://dribbble.com/shots/17781895-Yoga-Fitness-App Video transcript: "Will AI replace UI/UX designers? Whew, at the moment -- no.. But in the future? Well, for the first time since the release of ChatGPT, I'm thinking it's a real possibility. Now, to clarify, there will always be UI/UX jobs for designers, but I believe much of it will be automated. I'm not going to pretend to be some machine learning AI expert, but just imagine issuing a prompt like this: "Design a mobile app for my daily fitness tracker service, here are all of its features, and I want to maximize the conversion rate for free membership signups" So, first off -- we now know with openai's ChatGPT, it can crank out awesome copy. Imagine if this particular AI was trained with data that included CRO (conversion rate optimization) data, which would allow it to determine the best ad copy to use, the best IA (informational architecture), the best colors, the UI considerations -- all of this data, handed to you in a high fidelity mockup (or rather, a deployable web app) -- all ready to go and to be the best version of itself, within seconds.. Yeah, it's sort of worrisome. And before, I'd say that'd be way off in the distant future -- but now, I could easily see that becoming a reality in perhaps just a few years time.. So, what does this mean.. Should you not become a UI/UX designer? Nah, because this-- at the moment just speculation. And also, as I said at the beginning, it wouldn't negate all UI/UX jobs even when it arrives -- it simply means this: You have to be the best you can be.. It's now more important than ever to be the swiss army knife of UI/UX. So -- get serious, use this time now when AI is not a threat, and make yourself irreplaceable. What do you all think? I genuinely want to know your thoughts here in the comments -- so give to us -- will AI replace UI/UX designers?"
